Thanks to the Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney who stood up to Mr. Trump who went on and on about his plans for Greenland at the Davos meeting. All his threats about tariffs and other measures fizzled away eventually.
However, his peace plan for Gaza sounded just as absurd, especially when he had people on board like Mr. Tony Blair, who under false pretexts joined the war on Iraq, as well as Mr. Netanyahu with a long history of genocide. Furthermore, having his son-in-law Kushner as the architect of that plan, simply seemed like a new version of the Riviera " the dream of Mr. Trump and his dear friend Netanyahu. Who are they fooling? It is all a "Business Deal" with gas and other resources in that area. The joke will end up on those so called peacemakers, who do not know yet how resilient the people of Gaza are.
Ever since the announcement of Mr. Trump regarding that peace board and the so called ceasefire, and even after the signing ceremony in Davos, there was not one day that the people of Gaza were spared shelling and killing in one area or the other, over and above stalling of the opening of the Rafah border. The body of the last hostage was handed over two days ago. But of course Israel already has on hand a new condition "HAMAS"
Dare we hope that one of our Arab leaders would lead a united Arab front to stand up to all this nonsense and lead us all to a new era of real peace? A peace that is based on justice, whereby Palestine, including Gaza is not only recognized virtually, but as a country with its recognized and secure borders. How ironic that The word Palestine or occupation were not even mentioned once in Davos. Between who then is this peace plan supposed to be forged ????? However, with our long experience with the unwavering support of the USA to Israel ever since 1948, Israel never seems to have enough, and continues to flout international law and all UN resolutions. The US veto is another story in itself, and which has encouraged Israel to do as it pleases, including the recent demolition of UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem without any consequences, which seemed like burying once again all records of the 1948 catastrophe.
